HIP-HOP culture in Cameroon/Africa

Ok guys, I'm back with more talk. There is this phenomenon that has bothered me, to say the least, for a long time. Why do the younger Cameroonian/African generation ( please take no offense in my usage of Cameroonians as an example) see the not so nice aspects of American/western culture as the societal norm in this countries?? By that I mean, the "ghetto" "bling" sporting, "durag" wearing, pants "sagging""video girls" hip hop culture that has saturated American society. Its a question that i've pondered on without coming up with a viable answer. why do we feel the need to imitate a culture that is clearly not ours? It also strikes me as funny that the people who go about looking like that are not taken serious for one minute in America. They are perceived as more or less 'thugs' and uneducated. Looking back at the history and origin of this culture, "the style of sagging one's pants, or wearing them baggy and low without a belt, was also a style that originated in prisons...hip hop fashion has taken on significant influence from the dress styles of street thugs and prison inmates". With that said i am left thinking why on earth would anyone want to portray such negative connotations. the truth of the matter is this fashion sense is not "cool", trust me it hasn't gotten any one any were and it wont start now. Funny enough, we do it thinking we look very "American cool" but all I see is a pathetic facade of the real thing. Its like trying to dress up a chicken in coattails, instead of its God given feathers. We as Cameroonians/Africans have a culture that we should be proud of. we don't need to go around picking up peoples bad habits to feel good about ourselves. Originality is the secret ingredient we are missing as a country and continent. when that sets in, then and only then will we start seeing Cameroon/ Africa as a power house to be reckoned with.

hair extensions are lengths

hair extensions are lengths of hair, either synthetic or natural, that are attached to the scalp to add volume to the hair. human hair extensions are ideal for people who are affected by hair loss or hair thinning problems. Extensions come in different colors and texture and there are different methods for applying them. You can find the right colors that are like the color of your hair. The colors have a range. Color number one is the darkest shade of black. There can be a mixture of colors for example black and brown. If your hair has a mixture of two or more colors then you can find clip in hair extensions more or less like yours.

I completely agree with what

I completely agree with what you have to say, I think music artist in Hip Hop have over the years have excessively used the f and k words in their lyrics to sell their music and people some how love such music.

Its fine that your music might be a reflection of what you think or past experience in a relationship but does it always have to be so explicit. I like hip hop myself and rather listening to snoop dogg and the others I rather prefer listening to something like hip hop instrumentals

As you have rightly said that some of it is really pathetic and yet it sells.

In africa people are really

In africa people are really crazy about hip hop and rap music. You can see the example of late Michael Jackson. Basically they do free mixtape downloads and then use it in their music to rap it as per their desire.

Well I also wonder

phebe I must start by saying you got a nice writing style and your contributions are great.
I wonder why we back home like the hip hop and baggi issue ( I was a victim ). My reason for doing that in my teen years was mainly because we love music, and Jarule, DMX, Jay-Z where all like that. And we always think when our friends see us in those they will know we are as cool as the Stars in America. Anyway with time it will fade out with articles like this
